Cipher Digital (CIFR) shares are up 16% after announcing conditional ERCOT designations for 3.2 GW of Texas projects, boosting confidence in its data centre expansion pipeline. The total includes 1.1 GW of conditional base load and 2.1 GW of conditional studied load. The rally has extended across AI infrastructure stocks, with IREN (IREN) up 5.3%, CoreWeave (CRWV) gaining 4.3% and TeraWulf (WULF) rising 5.5%
“Any time that gas price gets anywhere close to $4 and then crests $4 a gallon, the customer changes their shopping behavior,” said Todd Vasos, CEO at Dollar General, at this week’s Goldman Sachs Global Consumer and Retail Conference.
The company’s core customers — those earning $40,000-$45,000, or less — said Vasos, have been visiting stores more frequently, but purchasing fewer items each trip.
The derivatives market isn't showing much anxiety either. K33 Research said open interest across bitcoin futures and perpetuals remains below its yearly average, with little evidence of the kind of leverage that can turn a routine selloff into a wave of liquidations.
