What the Budget offers for under 25s - and what it leaves out

The chancellor announced a series of measures which will impact under-25 year-olds from housing to minimum wage.

Chancellor John Healey has announced his Budget, which includes changes to minimum wage and help for people trying to get onto the housing ladder.

If you are an 18-to-20 year-old earning the minimum wage, your pay will go up by 3.9% from next April.

However, the increase may be lower than you had expected. That is because Healey reversed course on how his Labour predecessor, Rachel Reeves, had been increasing the minimum wage for young people.

If you are a young person hoping to start a business in England, the Budget contained good news for you.
